It’s been a while, but GinaLiuDesign recently reached 1,000 followers on Instagram!
I wanted to celebrate, so I organized a giveaway on my Instagram!
This took quite a bit of work. I’ve seen many other small businesses organize giveaways on Instagram, but this was my first time hosting one. I asked a couple of small businesses that I liked if they would be willing to collaborate with me for this giveaway, and I found a great group of girls who agreed to collaborate with me!
There was a lot of work that went into this giveaway. I asked for some advice from a small business owner that I had met over this giveaway, who had some experience with this. She suggested that I create a group chat so that we could communicate better, and I did. It helped a TON throughout the giveaway preparation.
After that, there was a lot of planning to prepare for the giveaway. I organized the prizes everyone was going to contribute, where all the prizes would be going to, the graphic and caption for the post, and much more. I also worked on the graphic design for the giveaway post that everyone in the group would be posting!
Finally, the 1K giveaway was ready! I sent all of the information for the post to the group, and everyone posted the collab giveaway!
I was still new to this and didn’t know what to expect, but as soon as all of the posts were up, I saw AMAZING results. The engagement and new audience I gained was incredible!
Eventually, my giveaway came to a close. I entered all of the people who entered into a random name generator. This took a bit of time… I think there were around 100 entries! A winner was chosen, and I shipped the cutest prizes from each small business I collaborated with to the winner!
Hosting my first giveaway was an amazing experience, and I am so glad that I did it! The best thing were the small business friends that I made during this fun experience. I loved getting to meet other talented girls I shared a passion with, and it’s been an absolutely amazing experience.
